Holes is about a kid named Zero who steals a famous basketball players shoes at a charity event, and drops them over a bridge. When he drops the shoes, they fall in the arms of a kid named Stanley Yelnats . Stanley gets arrested and he gets a choice of either going to jail or going to a discipline camp called Camp Green Lake. He and his family choose the camp and he goes there, along with Zero.
At the camp, Stanley gets the nickname Cave Man because he is so much bigger then every body. Stanley and Zero, eventually try to escape and they get lost I the desert. The only place to go was the giant rock that Stanley’s Great Grandpa supposedly took shelter after he got lost looking for treasure in the huge dry desert. In they end they where both found innocent and they return home wealthier then before. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend who likes any kind of book
